Cambridge Seminar 2019
Last Friday, February 1st, the experienced, engaging and highly entertaining Kate Newell shared her knowledge with over 25 EFL teachers at IH Academia Britanica, Huelva. As part of their ongoing personal and professional development, all participants enjoyed and benefitted from two in-depth training sessions entitled “Engaging learners in the assessment of writing skills at B2 and C1” and “Language Knowledge and Awareness” (not to mention the delicious breakfast provided by La Grosera, Huelva!!). The first session highlighted the ways in which teachers should approach marking Cambridge “writings” and provided practical and innovative ideas to cater for even the most unwilling of students. The second session helped raise teachers’ awareness of vocabulary and how to incorporate “noticing activities” into the classroom.
It was indeed a highly enjoyable, useful and entertaining morning well-spent!
